Wapping Wharf’s newest toastie destination to open in March

Wapping Wharf is welcoming another independent food trader this March, with the addition of Toastie Queens - a brand new café specialising in gourmet sourdough toasties and freshly ground coffee.

Founded by lifelong friends Shaz and Deb, Toastie Queens began in Totterdown with their first venture, Rock Choc Café, where they reinvented the humble toastie. Having rebranded recently as the Toastie Queens, the pair have spent years perfecting their craft, offering comforting, flavour-packed toasties for every palate. 

At their new Wapping Wharf unit, where they’ll take over what was previously the Seven Lucky Gods Shop & Sushi, customers can expect an array of freshly made toasties using locally baked sourdough bread, including plant-based and gluten-free options. Alongside their signature toasties, Toastie Queens will serve milkshakes made with local Tarrs ice cream, coffee from Bristol roastery Blind Owl, and a selection of local beers, ciders, wines, and soft drinks. Everything is made with quality, locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, with a focus on creating a warm, welcoming environment for all.

Toastie Queens will be opening on Saturday 14th March 2026 at Cargo 1, Unit 6, Gaol Ferry Steps, BS1 6WP. Their opening hours will be: Tuesday - Thursday 8am to 4pm; Friday 8am - 7pm; Saturday 9am - 7pm; Sunday 9am - 4pm.

Starting from Rock Choc Café in Totterdown, we’ve loved reinventing the humble toastie and sharing it with Bristol. We can’t wait to be part of it and welcome everyone to try our toasties and coffee.”

Toastie Queens will open at Cargo 1, Unit 6, Gaol Ferry Steps, BS1 6WP on Saturday 14th March 2026.
